One Year Later

Howdy, all!
So it's already been a year, huh? Wow. Happy Walpurgisnacht, by the way!
The topics for the day include a very informal roadmap and what's been going on.

So I haven't abandoned ITAM, and it holds a very special place in my heart. Originally I was planning to add some more systems, but eventually the doc of ideas ended up becoming its own game. That's why I just released 2 Month Magical Girl, a gmless TTRPG that you can read about more on its page!

When I think back on ITAM, I love how simple the game is. Like, it's literally around 50 pages. The narrative rules are there to guide the Contractor, but you can have a lot of flexibility to adapt your story to your players, and having the inherent goal of building Hope gives the players something to do. Admittedly, early playtests for 2MMG showed that it lacked direction, which was never an issue in ITAM. I also got I think the greatest praise you can get as a GM, which was one of my ITAM players said it was one of the best TTRPGs they've ever been in. That just proved that the game works, and doesn't necessarily want more added on.

That being said, it'd be cool to! 2MMG is designed to be a natural starting point for a game of ITAM if certain rollable tables go the right way. Speaking of rollable tables, 2MMG has a bunch, and I want to port those over to ITAM because if you hadn't noticed, I do love roll tables.

So yeah, I'm going to take a break from game dev for a few weeks because 2MMG was a real grind (98 pages in 45 days vs 50 pages in 26 days). Luckily I could take a lot of assets from ITAM, but I'd like to give it its own set. 2MMG also isn't done yet, so I'll need to worl a bit to actually complete it. After that's all good to go, I want to take another look at ITAM and see if any new ideas and tables from 2MMG would be a good fit. I think it'd be cool to have actual art as well!

Long story short, have a wonderful Walpurgisnacht and keep an eye out for updates! There'll probably be another game in a year as well. Looking at the naming conventions, it'll probably be 3 Minute Miracle or something like that.

Take it easy, y'all! Don out!
