Happy Walpurgisnacht!

Eyyyyy! 3 years of making Magical Girl TTRPGs and here we are!

So this year I didn't end up having quite as much time as I had hoped, so really this thing came together in 3 weeks, and yet somehow has just a few more pages than my previous game, 2 Month Magical Girl, which was like 96 pages while my first game, It'd Take a Miracle, only had 50.

I think that just goes to show that I've learned over the years. It helps that this game is basically ITAM: The Prequel and the mechanics took heavily from that game. However, this is also the nicest-looking TTRPG I've ever made. I think it's a lot more readable than 2MMG or ITAM.

However, there were some tradeoffs, as the game isn't technically done. What I've launched is version 0.9 since the game is feature complete, technically moreso than 2MMG when it launched. However, there are still some things I wanted to do, I just didn't have time. But for now, the game is completely playable, and low-key my playtests were pretty fun, but showed that Warded Wishes definitely has more tools for campaigns, and in a one-shot setting there were quite a few systems that didn't get utilized much.

So, here's what I still want to add to the game, either as part of the main book or as an add-on:

  • Character Sheets
  • Monstrosity and Mirror aesthetics generators
  • A new commissioned cover
  • more insert art
  • an Index
  • Premade Monstrosities
  • a Premade Ward
  • a Setting Document that ports in the main cast of Madoka Magica, Mitakihara and notes on Kazamino and Kamihama
  • iterated Page decoration

So, that's the plan! I've actually really enjoyed working on this game, and I'm hoping if I can put together a playtest campaign there can be other general iterations like what happened to ITAM. Only time will tell! In the meantime, thank you for reading this, it's been one heck of a month, and maybe, just maybe, I felt a bit of Homura's stress and pressure.

Happy Walpurgisnacht!
